Release production against an agreed specification rather than an informal collection of files. Confirm both the technical configuration and the scope of delivery before the order proceeds.
Freeze the controlled information
Record the approved model and drawing revisions, quantity, material grade and condition, manufacturing route and finish. For an assembly, confirm the BOM, hardware specifications and the items supplied by each party. Identify any approved alternatives or remaining decisions explicitly.
Confirm inspection and release conditions
Agree which sample or first-article checks are needed, what the acceptance criteria are and who approves the result. State any material records, dimensional reports or application-specific tests required with the order. An appearance sample and a dimensional report address different acceptance questions.
Define delivery and changes
Confirm protective packing, part identification, delivery location and the requested schedule in the commercial agreement. A later revision can affect programming, tooling, material, samples and timing. Review changes before work proceeds; a previous approval does not automatically cover a modified configuration.
